I’m 25 years old, a student of Technology, a scout and a Project Manager from North Tapiola. In Otaniemi my studies focus on Bioinformation Technology and Work Psychology. In my work as a Project Manager, on the other hand, I’m dealing with the merger of the three universities of art in Finland. My work is focused on the simultaneous merger of the three student unions in those universities.
Due to my previous experience, influencing to common issues through politics, feels natural to me. I come from North-Tapiola, Espoo, the Metropolitan Area, which is why I want to work for a better North-Tapiola, Espoo and the Metropolitan Area through Espoo City Council.
Currently I live with my spouse Jarno in a cozy flat, where you can hear birds singing, school bells ringing and middle schoolers’ mopeds rumble. My life includes work, my studies and home, as well as experimental cooking with adventurous recipes, good and entertaining books, student politics and activities as well as scouting. My days also include lots of laughter, friends, hugs, nature, politics and discussing about changing the world.

Childhood’s games in Lintuvaara and bonfires in Nuuksio
My experiences with Espoo started already when I spent a lot of time as a child at my grandparents and cousins in Lintuvaara. Time there was spent picking berries and making records in running and high jumps.
I started my scout career in the Koudat-troop when I was ten. That decision has made its mark in my life as I am still on that same path now – 15 years later. During this journey, I have, among other things, learnt about teamwork, leadership, responsibilities, learning and teaching, project management and international adventures in the Netherlands, Sweden and UK. Of course I have also spent amazing time in the nature and learned woodcraft skills. My fondest memories are naturally from the national park of Nuuksio.

Studies in Otaniemi
My time in Kallio Upper Secondary School of Performing Arts was wonderful and fruitful for a maybe little surprising reason. I enjoyed the arts, especially written articulacy, greatly among the “normal” high school subjects. My greatest passion, though, were mathematics, physics and chemistry. After high school, I followed that passion to Otaniemi and Helsinki University of Technology and started studying bioinformation technology.
In addition to the interesting academic studies in Otaniemi, the wonderful spectrum of different hobbies, student organizations and politics carried me away right away in my freshmen year. I have among other things acted as the captain of the freshmen education in the Aalto University’s guild of Electrical Engineering in 2008-2009. In that position I was in charge of the welcoming and year long orientation to student life of more than 200 new Electrical Engineering students as well as making sure that the beginning of their studies were fluent. During that time I also acted in the Teekkari Committee of the late student union of Helsinki University of Technology.

Influential experience at Aalto University Student Union
As the new Aalto University was born, also a new student union emerged. I was active in the first steps of Aalto University Student Union as I ran and got elected for the first council of the union. In the first official year of the student union I was chosen for the full time executive board of the student union. The next year, 2011, I acted as the president of the board.
Nowadays I am still acting in the council, and with great joy follow the growth and progress of the new university and student union. This experience collected within the student union also benefits my current work as the project manager of the merging of the art student unions.
